With 99 percent surgical satisfaction rates, you can be confident that you are in good hands at Moundview Memorial Hospital & Clinics. Our team of trained surgical professionals work closely with Moundview’s general surgeons, Stephen Paulk, MD, and Robert Schmus, MD, as well as several on-staff and consulting specialty physicians to provide you with safe, quality, personalized care. Our surgical site infection rate is better than national levels.
Moundview offers a wide range of surgeries and procedures. Most surgeries are performed on an outpatient basis and are considered “same day” surgeries. A same day surgery is a planned procedure, not an emergency surgery. It does not require an overnight stay in the hospital, barring any complications or continued healthcare needs. Same day surgery patients receive all of the care they need in one convenient setting including: registration, pre-operative procedures, surgery and recovery. A waiting room with a television is available for family and friends while you are in surgery.
Surgical procedures available at Moundview include:
Prior to surgery, all patients receive instructions about their surgical procedure and how they will be cared for that day. Once your surgery is complete, you will be taken to the recovery room. The staff will monitor your pain, surgical site, breathing, blood pressure and circulation. Following recovery, you and your loved ones will receive instructions on what to expect once you return home, including detailed home care instructions. Once you return home, please contact us with any questions or concerns that arise.
