Moundview offers a variety of inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services for the convenience of individuals and businesses.
Audiology Our licensed, certified audiologist evaluates, treats and manages hearing disorders in adults and children. Most hearing problems can be helped, either medically or with hearing aids. If a medical problem is discovered, the audiologist works with the patient's doctor to help remedy the solution. In other cases, the audiologist will discuss the options available to the patient which may include the purchase of hearing aids.
We dispense and custom fit a wide variety of hearing aids from the most basic to the highest digital technology available. The audiologist will assist you in choosing the best hearing aid(s) to meet your needs. Patients are educated on the use of their new hearing aids and follow up visits are scheduled to ensure patient satisfaction. There is a minimum of a 30 day trial period for all new hearing aids.
Other services provided include: cleaning, servicing and repairing all makes and models of hearing aids; hearing aid battery club; and annual OSHA hearing screenings for businesses whose employees are exposed to high noise levels. For more information, call us at (608) 339-8338.
Cardiac Rehabilitation Moundview's Cardiac Rehabilitation Program can help you return to an active life following a heart attack, heart surgery, or other related procedure. The program is coordinated by a respiratory therapist and registered nurse with supervision by local physicians and consulting cardiologists.
There are four phases of care:
- Phase 1, Inpatient: Hospital oriented care following a heart attack or heart procedure. Includes low level exercise to prevent the body from becoming weaker due to inactivity.
- Phase 2, Healing: This is the phase usually thought of by the public as “cardiac rehab”. It begins when you leave the hospital and may last 2-12 weeks depending on your needs. Patients are closely monitored as they pace their exercise in order to increase endurance, maintain overall heart efficiency and improve physical fitness. Patients also learn how nutrition, exercise, medication, stress control and lifestyle choices can affect their cardiac health.
- Phase 3, Conditioning: The patient takes on more responsibility for their recovery by developing an on-going exercise program. Patients help monitor their own condition with scheduled physician visits.
- Phase 4, Maintenance: The patient's goal is to maintain the healthy lifestyle they have adopted including a regular exercise program, improved diet, and risk factor changes such as smoking cessation.

It can improve your circulation, eliminate waste and toxins, lower your blood pressure, reduce your heart rate, increase production of natural painkillers, relieve muscle tension, improve muscle tone and more.

Driver's Safety Assessment The driver's safety assessment is recommended for the elderly, persons who are physically challenged or individuals who have suffered a head injury, memory loss, stroke, hip fracture or other debilitating condition. It assesses a person's abilities to determine if they are driving safely.
Individuals complete a series of tasks using a machine that simulates driving related skills. Their physician is notified of the results and makes a recommendation based on the findings. If impairment is found, in many cases it can be resolved. For example, new glasses may correct a vision problem, therapy may improve physical limitations and equipment modifications can be made to vehicles.
Medicare and most private insurances will cover the assessment with a doctor's referral. For more information, call our occupational therapy staff at (608) 339-8338.
